Her position as a Deputy District Attorney with the Crimes Against Women and Children’s Unit ended in 1998 when she was elected to the bench as the seventh Justice of the Peace for the Las Vegas Justice Courts.
Judge Saitta was elected to the Eighth Judicial District Court in November, 1998.
She was appointed to Municipal Court in 1989 and was retained and re-elected by the voters until her resignation in 1999 to accept the District Court appointment.

On March 14, 2000, Magistrate Judge John W. Primomo of the Western District of Texas entered a Memorandum and Recommendation recommending that the plaintiffs' motion to remand be granted and that the case be remanded to state court because the district court does not have subject matter jurisdiction.
Plaintiffs here appear to be using the Declaratory Judgment Act as a forum selection device, a practice that has been rejected by federal courts.

 Pediatric Drug Testing Struck Down by Court
In a challenge to the "pediatric rule" by the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, Inc., the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said Congress didn't authorize the FDA to set a pediatric requirement when it passed the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act years ago.
The court pointed out that because of the difficulty in finding substantial pediatric populations to undergo tests, along with the ethical complications associated with testing new drugs on children, many drugs are tested for safety and effectiveness in adults only.
With that "pediatric rule" now barred by the federal district court, it's unclear what will happen next in pediatric drug testing.

 Wired News: U.S. Backs RIAA in ISP Fight
A Justice Department brief, filed Friday in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, supports the effort by the Recording Industry Association of America to force Verizon Communications to identify a subscriber suspected of offering more than 600 songs from well-known artists.
Verizon has asked a federal judge to halt a subpoena for the subscriber's identity, arguing that it violates the First Amendment because it does not provide "protection of the expressive and associational interests of Internet users."
Those lawsuits, filed in New York, New Jersey and Michigan, demand that the sites be shut down and that the RIAA be paid damages of up to $150,000 per song.
