 US politics - definition of US politics in Encyclopedia
United States politics is dominated by the two major parties, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party.
In most U.S. counties, one town or city is designated as the county seat, and this is where the government offices are located and where the board of commissioners or supervisors meets.
Suffrage is universal for citizens 18 years of age and older, though voting rights can be restricted as a result of felony conviction (such laws vary widely by state).

I’m as irritated as anyone at the political weakness this nomination reflects (though inclined to agree with Thomas Sowell that it’s a weakness of the GOP Senate).
The Miers withdrawal is deeply embarrassing to Bush, who should be able to get his pick of Supreme Court justices with a 55-seat Senate GOP majority.
That she has not been a judge, but has spent years dealing with the effects of judges pronouncements is another plus, as she probably understands better than the judges how far reaching the consequences of their decisions can be.

I am still scratching my head about that one, I was a 'values voter' as well, though I value honesty, compassion, and human life.
I believe such correlations are increasingly interesting as some candidates this year funneled more money into biased advertising and partisan propaganda than has ever been attempted in the history of the world.
I am glad that so many people are so interested in IQ, statistical correlations, and their relation to politics.
