The concession to Catholics of civil and political liberty by the Emancipation Act of 1829 was preceded and followed in Scotland, as in England, by disgraceful exhibitions of bigotry and intolerance, although many prominent Scotsmen, including Sir Walter Scott, were entirely in its favour.

i’ve been to scotland quite a few times (my family is all from there) i love it, the weather is usually rubbish, but i still have loads of fun there, i want to go ski-ing up there next year!!
It’s well worth heading to some of the more off-the-beaten track places.
Moved here just over a month ago, from Australia… It’s generally at least 30 degrees Celsius colder here than where I’m from back home, but it’s awesome none-the-less… Some of the Glens out in the country are breathtaking… Seeing SNOW for the first time in my life was amazing… I definitely love living here ;)
