Amendments 156 and 172 in the name of Robin Harper will be considered at the Justice 2 Committee, 11 December 2002.
A decision by the Scottish Parliament's Justice 2 Committee as to whether Robin Harper MSP's proposal to extend the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Bill to cover laws governing so-called 'hate crimes' has been postponed until tomorrow morning (Wednesday)

 Scottish Green Party - Robin Harper MSP
In 1995 he was elected Convener of Scottish Green Party Council, and in 1998 was elected Principal Speaker.
He has stood for the party at numerous elections, including the 1989 European election when he polled 10.5%.
After University in Aberdeen, Robin taught in Scotland and Kenya before returning to Boroughmuir High School, Edinburgh, where he taught Modern Studies from 1972 - 1999.

His term of office took effect from the election date,
Robin Harper, who has fought elections for the Green Party at national, European and local level since 1986, was elected Scottish Green Party MSP for Lothians in May 1999 as the UK's first Green parliamentarian.
Robin Harper was a member of Lothian Health Council from 1993 to 1998 and Lothian Children's Panel from 1985 to 1988.

 BBC NEWS Scotland Summit 'shadow' for first minister
The event is being held in Johannesburg between 26 August and 4 September.
Robin Harper said he would be attending the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) to "shadow" First Minister Jack McConnell.
Scotland's only Green MSP has promised to "keep a beady eye" on the country's first minister at the world summit in South Africa.

The Parliament met for the first time on 11 May. Lord Steel of Aikwood, henceforth to be known again as Sir David Steel, was elected as the Presiding Officer.
The three "others" are Dennis Canavan (Independent Labour), who took the constitutency of Falkirk West although rejected as a candidate by the official Labour Party, Tommy Sheridan (Scottish Socialist Party, elected on the list in the Glasgow region), and Robin Harper (Green Party, elected on the list in the Lothians region).
Underlying that criticism is a desire that the law of unjustified enrichment should develop in a uniform way, and a concern that if the law continues to express the remedies in terms of restitution, repetition and recompense it will inhibit that development.

Robin Harper, Leah Parkinson and Brant Peterson have been awarded Chancellor's Undergraduate Research Fellowships to continue their work in the laboratory of Dr. Lewis Jacobson during Spring 2002 term.
A number of undergraduate students in the the Department of Biological Sciences have obtained competitive fellowships.
In addition, Jennifer Fostel has been awarded a Chancellor's Undergraduate Teaching Fellowship for Spring Term.
