Robert F. Kennedy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kennedy is perhaps most remembered for his work on civil rights, namely the integration of the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi (whose first black student was James Meredith), and his support of the civil rights bill that passed in 1964.
Originally Kennedy had denied speculation that he was going to run for the Democratic nomination in 1968 against President Lyndon Johnson (The 22nd Amendment didn't disqualify LBJ from running for a second term because he served less than half of JFK's four-year term).
Soon after President John F. Kennedy's assassination, Robert Kennedy left the Cabinet to run for a seat in the United States Senate representing New York.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kennedy graduated from Harvard University with a major in political science, and obtained a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia Law School.
In 1998, Kennedy was named the inaugural director of the Watershed Institute at Boston College, an urban ecology research center.
Kennedy currently serves as a Senior Attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council, or NRDC.

 Robert Kennedy
Robert Kennedy saw voting as the key to racial justice and collaborated with President Kennedy when he proposed the most far-reaching civil rights statute since Reconstruction, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, passed after President Kennedy was slain on November 22, 1963.
Robert Kennedy was not only President Kennedy's Attorney General, he was also his closest advisor and confidant.
After the election, he was appointed Attorney General in President Kennedy's Cabinet.

Soon after his brother was assassinated in 1963, Kennedy resigned from President Lyndon Johnson's cabinet and ran successfully for the U.S. Senate.
From 1960 to 1964, Robert F. Kennedy served as Attorney General, attempting to ensure that black Americans had the right to vote, to attend school, and to use public accommodations.

 Robert Kennedy
In 1951 Kennedy joined the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice but resigned the following year to help his brother, John F. Kennedy, in his successful campaign to be elected to the Senate.
Kennedy went to Harvard University but his studies were interrupted by the Second World War.
Kennedy's father was a highly successful businessman who later served as ambassador to Great Britain (1937-40).

Robert Francis Kennedy, United States Senator
Kennedy resigned to run for the Senate from New York; and, establishing residence, he put into operation the political structure he had erected for his brother in 1960 and won the nomination without difficulty.
Kennedy resigned his post in mid-1953, but rejoined it in February, 1954, as counsel to the Democratic minority.
Kennedy's first (and ultimately most controversial) venture into the public limelight occurred in 1953, when he was named one of 15 assistant counsel to the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

After graduating from Harvard University, Kennedy earned his law degree from the University of Virginia Law School.
Kennedy was keynote speaker at a gathering that featured such anti-pork industry trial lawyers on January 11, 2001, in New Bern, North Carolina.
What Kennedy brings to this table, say critics, is his fame and an "enviro-conglomerate" of the Waterkeeper Alliance, Pace (University) Environmental Law Clinic and Hudson Riverkeepers, all three of which Kennedy purportedly controls.

 Robert Francis Kennedy
A graduate of Harvard (1948) and the Univ. of Virginia law school (1951), Bobby Kennedy managed his brother John's successful campaign for the U.S. Senate in 1952.
His inclusion in President Kennedy's cabinet gave rise to charges of nepotism, but he proved a vigorous attorney general, especially in prosecuting civil rights cases.

Robert Kennedy and the JFK Assassination -- Recent Findings
This truth about Robert Kennedy's bottomless melancholy, which never fully lifted during the reminder of his life, has at least three implications.
That is the only conceivable reason why Kennedy, when specifically asked by Earl Warren, did not share his knowledge of anti-Castro plotting with the Warren Commission.
Indeed, in some respects the Warren Commission's investigation represented a threat, first to the Kennedy administration's image and then to RFK's own political viability.

 Robert Kennedy's Transformation
That is why the naming of the Justice Department building for Robert Kennedy is a good thing.
In those days, the northeast half of the Justice Department building was given over to the FBI, and J. Edgar Hoover's office was in the corner opposite Kennedy's.
The assault on civil liberties in the name of ''homeland security,'' especially the open contempt for noncitizens and the president's order establishing military tribunals, represent not only grave threats to justice - but signals of surrender to terrorists aiming to undermine democracy.

Robert F. Kennedy: Remembering Bobby: The Revolutionary Senator
Along with JFK he brought the first sense of justice for minorities to the White House - though, like many of their generation, the brothers were slow to grasp the monumental injustice of racism in America.
Following the successful race, Robert had little desire to return to the Justice Department and the glory-seeking J. Edgar Hoover.
He was soon appointed to a select committee on racketeering, where he developed the case against Teamsters leader Dave Beck, who was convicted of larceny and tax evasion in 1957 (and pardoned by President Gerald Ford in 1975).

SUSAN STAMBERG, HOST: Robert Francis Kennedy died 30 years ago today, at 1:44 a.m.
The country waded through the agonizing 26-or-so hours after Bobby Kennedy was shot in Los Angeles, waiting, hoping for an outcome that was not to be.
For a certain kind of American, and in this case the umbrella is wide, the date is marked in memory as deeply as the one a few weeks earlier on which Martin Luther King, Jr., was killed or the one a few years earlier, when President Kennedy died.

Simple Facts about the Robert F. Kennedy Assassination
Thane Cesar was a security guard who was pressed up against Kennedy's back right side and was holding Kennedy's right arm in his left hand as Sirhan jumped out and fired his first two shots at Kennedy from several feet away.
- The four bullets which touched Kennedy all hit on his back right side and were traveling forward relative to his body.
Kennedy was walking towards Sirhan, his body was always facing Sirhan during the shots, and afterwards he even fell backwards before saying his last lucid words, ("Is everyone all right?") - at each and every moment facing toward Sirhan.

 Kennedy Skeptical
Newly discovered letters written by the late Senator and Presidential candidate Robert Kennedy show clearly that Kennedy was skeptical about UFOs, and about the possibility of any United States Air Force cover up.
When Barrow wrote Kennedy about whether the Senator believed the Air Force was covering up, Kennedy was direct and to the point.
Kennedy’s skeptical views found in these new letters is also important in light of documents recently leaked into the UFO community claiming the Kennedy assassination was due in large part to an order given by Kennedy shortly before his death for all UFO files.
