Administration.As one of the Commonwealth states Queensland returns six senators and nine representatives to the federal parliament.
The case was tried by the chief justice, Sir Charles Lilley, in 1891 and 1892, the defendants being Sir Thomas Mcllwraith, Sir Arthur Palmer, then president of the Legislative Council, and Messrs F. Hart and E. Drury.
Parliament was dissolved on 3rd April, and after the general elections the ministry returned with 38 supporters, against Labor, 16, and Opposition and Independent, 18.

The elected head of government is the Labor Premier, the Hon Peter Beattie, who appoints an Executive Council from the members of the 89-seat Legislative Assembly, known as Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs).
In 2001 the state adopted a new codified constitution, repealing most of the assorted acts that had previously made up the constitution.
Queensland is a state of Australia, in the north-east of the country.
