GENERALLY, I believe that campaigns do not matter and that the records of the leaders', the parties andthe governments that have been established in the months and years leading up to the election determine voters decisions more than the actual campaign period.
1990 - The Liberals were heading for a victory until Bob Rae's debate performance turned the NDP into a credible alternative and gave disaffected voters a reason to vote for him.
If an election is held on October 9th, I think the voter turnout will be much lower.

Although the NDP won a majority of seats in the last Ontario election but one, opinion polls show it currently enjoying the support of less than 20 percent of the electorate, thus placing it in serious danger of falling short of the 12 seats needed to retain official party status in the Ontario legislature.
