Robert Metz was the party's first president, and became its first official leader in 1987.
The Freedom Party of Ontario adopted a new objective: to influence government through the election of Fp members of the Ontario provincial legislature "for the better protection in Ontario of every individual's rights of life, liberty and property".
In 2002, Mike Harris resigned, and was replaced as PC Party leader and Ontario Premier by his former Minister of Finance, Ernie Eves.

The 3-0 ruling from the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reverses a judge in Oklahoma City, who ruled last year that the law is constitutional and refused to grant an injunction to permanently bar enforcement of the law.
Oklahoma's law provides that a political party may allow registered independents to vote in its primary and runoff elections, but may not allow registered voters of other parties to vote in its elections.

The party is now considering a constitutional challenge to the 1995 Election Act, which party member Ron Gillespie described as "a terrible threat to political freedom in British Columbia."
"At the Libertarian National Convention in Washington, DC, in 1996, Bruce performed as George Washington, delivering his 'Farewell Address.' This was covered on C-SPAN and earned him a standing ovation," he said.
As punishment for the infraction, the Elections B.C. commission shut down the party, demanded the $316 in the party's bank account, and warned party members that they can't accept donations or run for office.

I changed that to 'Vote Libertarian.' I believe that Republicans are just another stripe of statists and although marginally better than the Democrats, they really have no real understanding of individual and economic freedom.
