28 A judge of the Court of Appeal or the Supreme Court may not be elected a member of the Legislative Assembly while he or she holds the office of judge.
(4) A person occupying the position of a permanent officer of the Legislative Assembly is deemed to have occupied that position on and after the date of his or her appointment until the person dies, resigns or is removed from office.
29 If a person disqualified or declared incapable of being elected a member of the Legislative Assembly by this Act, or by any other law in force in British Columbia, is elected and returned as a member, the person's election and return is void.

 Peter Lalor - Parliament of Victoria
When the first parliament under the new Constitution was elected in 1856, Lalor was returned unopposed as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for North Grenville, a Ballarat seat.
The Commissioners appointed to inquire into conditions on the goldfields recommended that the Legislative Council be enlarged to include goldfields' representatives; the suggestion was adopted and Lalor was returned unopposed to represent the area in November 1855.
Lalor remained Speaker until September 1887 when, weakened by ill health and the deaths of his wife and only daughter, he resigned the position and took leave from parliament, of which he was still a Member, to go to San Francisco.

22 (2)           If any person, being a member of the Legislative Assembly, is or becomes disqualified as a member thereof under any of the provisions of this Act, his seat in the Legislative Assembly shall thereby be vacated.
Executive Council Act shall be reimbursed for the expenses listed in Schedule A that are incurred in the performance of the members' duties.
(b)           every Act passed, every order made and everything done by the Legislative Assembly while such member is acting as Speaker shall be as valid and effectual as if the Speaker himself was in the Chair.

Concurrence of two-thirds of the members of both the House and the Senate shall be necessary for approval of the report, and, upon approval, any recommended sanction shall be imposed immediately.
(E) All requests for an opinion shall be submitted in writing by the member or employee of or candidate for the General Assembly or employee of any legislative agency who desires the opinion and shall state in the request whether the opinion is being publicly or privately sought.
Upon receiving a timely request and with the approval of a majority of the members of the committee, the committee may issue the written opinion as an advisory opinion.

The Convention Act defines membership in the Legislative Assembly as the First Nations in Saskatchewan who are signatories to the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations Convention.
