Shri Yajee was also the former President of the All India Forward Bloc and one of the close associates and confident of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
Just after the Haripura Congress Session, Netaji as President of the Au India Congress Committee set up a Planning Commission and appointed Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as the President, Shri V. Giri ( the present President of the Indian Republic) as Convenor and Shri H. Kamath as the Secretary of the Planning Committee.
Through his initiative and dedication, the Committee could collect contributions from the Centre and State Governments for the memorial.

The Forward Bloc, which has convened a meeting tomorrow to choose its ministerial nominees, said that two former ministers, Kamal Guha from Dinhata and Chhaya Ghosh from Murshidabad, will be inducted.
The RSP said it will allot the public works department to new winners as Cabinet minister Kshiti Goswami and his minister of state Monohar Tirkey lost the elections.
The decision was conveyed to representatives of the three minor Front partners — the Forward Bloc, RSP and the CPI — who called on CPM leaders separately at the Alimuddin Street headquarters this morning.

The member from the Bloc Québécois who spoke before me referred to the Supreme Court decision as a unanimous decision, or at least that is the way it came across in the translation; perhaps it was an error.
As was pointed out by the government House leader, the court did suspend its decision, or the effect of its judgment, for one year until this June 27 in order to allow Parliament time to bring forward the necessary changes to the Canada Elections Act.
It is my understanding that it was not a unanimous decision of the Supreme Court.

 Weekly Worker 529 Thursday May 20 2004 - CPI(M) treads fine line
Collectively this 'Left Front' bloc hold 62 seats, representing 15% of the new parliament.
The CPI(M) alone has 33 seats, making it the third largest single party in the house and a potential king-maker.
This "fear" was magnified tenfold, of course, by the prospect that a Congress-led coalition government would include the four main leftwing parties: the Communist Party of India, the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the All-India Forward Bloc and the Revolutionary Socialist Party.

It is not quite clear what exactly prompted the senior Forward Bloc minister in the West Bengal government, Mr Kamal Guha, to suggest that there should be a deputy chief minister to ease the workload of Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.
The assembly elections this year have already pointed towards the declining popularity of the Trinamool Congress leader.
Even if Mr Bhattacharjee does not agree with Mr Guha’s idea of a deputy chief minister, he would do well to consider the Forward Bloc’s other suggestion that a core committee of the cabinet be set up to ensure better decision-making and monitoring of the government’s action plans.

The SLP Republicans’ argument against us hangs on one main point – that the Marxist Bulletin ’s decision not to be part of the ‘democracy slate’ is unprincipled and means we are actually working against our stated aim of political clarity.

The Left Government Trapped between Its Hegemonic Structure and the Proletarian
In the case of India, too much of premature liberalisation coupled with governmental indifference is destroying the industrial houses having the potentiality of competing in the international market....The suggestion of the American economist to carry forward liberalisation with a bang will cost dearly in social and political terms".
This is quoted from the deliberations of the West Bengal Chief Minister in the 93rd annual general meeting of the Chamber of Commerce on Oct.8, 1994.
Yet in some places, the oppressive instruments of the state (police, administrative heads) came forward as mediators in labour disputes.

Consider that their belief in the end-times has not been in the least bit shaken by the end of the Cold War and consider that the sweeping Republican electoral victories of 1994 were accomplished by a shift of only 2% of the voters coupled with a low voter turn-out.
Since most of the newly independent colonies still limited voting rights to property owners, this meant that the number of voters was increased significantly.)
This may make the Illuminati sound like a cross between Marxists and 1960's flower children, and is no doubt the image that so horrifies fundamentalist conspiracy theorists.

Regretting that such a national democratic or people's democratic front could have helped in ushering in the revolution, it said, "The two Communist parties have always tried to get close to the bourgeois, reactionary and pseudo-democratic parties only to savour the fruits of power at all levels".

The Nature of Law, Part IV:
Specifically, Eli Whitney and Katharine Greene's invention of the cotton gin made plantation farming more profitable, while the Constitution's three-fifths compromise (treating each slave as three-fifths of a person for purposes of representation) gave slave states a disproportionate voting bloc in Congress, and thus an added incentive to continue slavery.
In order to take advantage of the expanded economic options offered by the cotton gin and the expanded political options offered by the three-fifths compromise, whites in the slave states needed to make sure that blacks' options remained severely limited.
A Natural Law against murder or theft will not protect us from murderers and thieves; a natural right to life will not turn a mugger's knifeblade or repel an assassin's bullet; a natural right to property is not as useful as high walls and sturdy locks.

This type of reasoning was criticised by V. Lenin in the trade union debates of the early 1920s.

Secondly, the SLP and Scargill personally has adopted a very firm approach with respect to whether or not the law should be obeyed, answering a clear *no* if that law goes against working class interests, such as is the case with the trade union laws.

Socialism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc had socialist economies, as the means of production were owned almost entirely by the state and the bulk of the economy was centrally controlled by the Communist Party acting through the state.
This would mean abolishing class distinctions, therefore making "the proletariat" a universal term synonymous with "the people".
There are also some who dispute whether it is appropriate to refer to any state, past, present, future, or hypothetical as "socialist," preferring to reserve that word for an economy or even a society, but not a state.

Taking forward the struggle for Socialism
This counter-balance, we argued, established conditions in which progressive national liberation movements in the South, having achieved power, had much greater prospects for advancing radical national democratic revolutions which were characterised as "non-capitalist", or as having a "socialist orientation".
In political terms, a socialist society is one in which the working class and its allies have constituted themselves into a ruling bloc, with massive popular support as the bedrock for weathering the inevitable attempts to punish or destabilise such an advance.
Moreover, in the analysis of the Party (and of the ANC), the 1994 democratic breakthrough had brought into power a radical democratic bloc of forces, representing a range of oppressed classes and strata, but in which the working class was acknowledged as the key motive force.
