 John Mackinnon Robertson
Robertson’s education ended at the age of thirteen, at which point he became a railroad telegraph clerk, and later a clerk at an insurance office.
After losing his seat in 1918, Robertson devoted the rest of his long life to his publications on freethought.
In 1906 Robertson was elected to Parliament as a Liberal, becoming a member of the Privy Council in 1915 (after which time he was formerly known as ‘The Right Honourable’).

The will mentions his eldest son John, then deceased (he served in 1745-6 and died before his father, leaving a son, John, and a daughter Elizabeth).
