As was his wont immediately after the two expulsions in 1988 and 1990, one could now expect a series of charges from him against Jayalalitha on her meanness, selfishness, and corruption.
In the battle for his mantle that followed between late Janaki Ramachandran (widow of MGR) and Jayalalitha, it was Thirunavukkarasu who masterminded the moves of Jayalalitha, a novice to political games at that time.
Thirunavukkarasu, as expected, carried a vilification campaign against Jayalalitha through his speeches and articles.

Special judge-II V Radhakrishnan on Tuesday ordered the issuance of summons to former Tamil Nadu chief minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalitha to appear before the court on July 3 for trial in the Rs 65 million coal import scam case.
The prosecution case was that during 1992-93, Jayalalitha and nine others had entered into a criminal conspiracy to import reportedly substandard coal for Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, causing a wrongful loss to the state exchequer to the tune of Rs 65 million.
The judge ordered issuance of summons while allowing a memo filed by the prosecution stating that in view of the Supreme Court judgment, Jayalalitha may be summoned for trial.

 SPIC Case: Jaya Justifies Decision to Divest - Indlaw News
According to the chargehseet filed by the SPIC, Jayalalitha along with SPIC co-promoter A C Muthiah and former industries secretary C Ramachandran, have been charged for renouncing TIDCO'S entitlement for a `low' sum of Rs 12.37 crores and causing an alleged loss of Rs 28.29 crore to the Exchequer.
In her statement, Jayalalitha has also sought to distinguish the `SPIC disinvestment' issue from the proposed move to privatise Salem Steel Plant, against which she is leading an opposition protest.
According to the statement issued by Jayalalitha her Government had declined the offer for a further investment of Rs 32 crores in the 'zero bond' scheme as SPIC was a largely unprofitable venture.

The All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, headed by former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha, split with seven of the 14 MPs casting their lot with S Thirunavukkarasu, whom the party chief had expelled on Monday.
"My ultimate aim is to form an AIADMK sans Jayalalitha with the support of all the MGR loyalists and restore MGR rule in the state," he said, adding that he would keep in touch with former ministers and senior leaders who had been expelled from the party.
He also claimed that he was enjoying the support of a majority of the general council members and the question of expelling Jayalalitha from the party would be decided at the meeting.

Sun TV, the Madras-based private Tamil television channel, on Wednesday served a legal notice on All India Anna DMK general secretary and former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha, for alleging that it was behind the cutting of Doordarshan telephone lines on the eve of Tamil New Year's day.
Sun TV has sent a similar notice to an English daily for publishing Jayalalitha's statement in this connection in which she demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the alleged sabotage.
Sun TV has stated that it would initiate legal action in civil and criminal courts if Jayalalitha failed to tender an unconditional apology and pay Rs 50 million within ten days.
