Two Jagiellonians also ruled Hungary and Bohemia, which briefly (1440–44) shared their king with Poland.

 Jagiellonian Poland
The poem set to music served largely as a dynastic hymn of the Jagiellonians (1386-1572), sung at coronations, when royal decrees were issued, and before battle.
Although legends associate the poem with St. Wojciech (Adalbert) of the 11th century, the poem was probably composed in the 14th century; it is first attested in a Cracow manuscript dating from 1407.
According to Jan Dlugosz (Polish historian of the 15th century), the hymn was song by the Polish-Lithuanian forces under Wladyslaw Jagiello before the great victory over the Teutonic Knights at the Battle of Grunwald (Tannenburg) in 1410.
