The history of Azerbaijan from the first half of the 18th century to the 19th century is filled with resistance against foreign invaders, with North Azerbaijan being the centre of this resistance.
This was of serious significance to the history of Azerbaijan because it created favourable conditions for the development of economy and helped in fighting against foreign intruders.
The Eurasian Patent Convention was signed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan on September 9, 1994, in Moscow, at the meeting of the Council of Prime Ministers of CIS countries.

The 6th November will enter the history of independent Azerbaijan as a day of next elections to the supreme legislative body - Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Republic (Azerbaijan Parliament).
President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev on November 8 at the President Palace received head of the mission of observation of the Islamic Republic of Iran the parliament elections in Azerbaijan, Ahad Gazai.
On November 2, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev chaired a meeting at the Baku Mayoral on the socio-economic development of the Baku settlements and suburbs.

First time in the election history of Azerbaijan voters appealed to courts for including their names in the voter’s lists on the election day.
The elections — if called as such — were conducted with major violations of the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan not to mention the gross violation of international standards.
According to the Election Code, most of the courts that must resolve this problem in an hour were closed on the election day, delayed on purpose or made bureaucracy as a result of which the voter right of a small part of voters appealed to the courts have been restored.
