Truman (May 8, 1884 – December 26, 1972) was the thirty-fourth Vice President (1945) and the thirty-third President of the United States (1945–1953), succeeding to the office upon the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Truman appointed the following Justices to the Supreme Court of the United States:
Harry blamed the fall in farm prices on the policies of the Republicans, and Secretary of the Treasury Andrew Mellon in Washington, a factor that would influence his decision to become a Democrat.

But Truman embarked on a vigorous whistle-stop campaign across the country, blaming the Republican Congress for most of the nation’s ills and highlighting its inactivity by calling a special session of Congress, at which he urged the Republicans to enact into law their own moderately liberal party platform.
On the death (Apr. 12, 1945) of Roosevelt, Truman succeeded to the presidency.
