Daniel Henry Chamberlain (June 23, 1835 – April 13, 1907) was a planter, lawyer, author and the Republican Governor of South Carolina from 1874 until 1877.
Chamberlain was noted for reducing government spending, his support of civil rights, and for his opposition to patronage.
Chamberlain was the last Republican to fill a high office in South Carolina until the late 1960s.

Chamberlain entered South Carolina politics in 1868 as a delegate to the state constitutional convention from Berkeley District.
Failing to gain the Republican nomination for governor in 1872, Chamberlain practiced law in Charleston.
In 1874, with the support of black leaders Francis L. Cardozo and Robert Brown Elliott, Chamberlain became the Republican candidate for governor and won the general election that fall.
