The functions of the Commission were continued by the Countryside Commission from 1969 and in Wales these responsibilities were transferred in 1991 to the Countryside Council For Wales.
Until the reorganisation of local government in Wales on the 1st April 1996 the Snowdonia National Park was a department of the Gwynedd county council.
Most of the land remains in private ownership, although there are significant areas of Parks that are in public ownership, most notably the Ministry of defence and the Forestry Commission.

The Crown of Charles, Prince of Wales was the crown used by Charles, Prince of Wales at his investiture as Prince of Wales in 1969.
The Prince of Wales's investiture occurred at Caernarfon Castle in Wales on July 1, 1969.
The 1911 crown was worn by two Princes of Wales, and could have been worn by more had the last holder of the time to that point not illegally removed the crown from Britain and kept it among his private possessions.

In 1969 the Legislative Council resolved that a Member, the Honourable Alexander Ewan Armstrong, be adjudged guilty of "conduct unworthy of a Member" and be expelled from the House and that his seat be declared vacant.
